Thanks to everyone who came to our wildlife recording walk around the Welsh Harp Environmental Education Centre! Despite the rainy outlook, it was great to see so many enthusiastic faces :-). Special thanks to Simon Braidman for his invaluable naturalist-y presence, & to Gillan Barnard and Suzanne Morpurgo for pulling everyone together.
Do keep track of the UK City Nature Challenge leaderboard:
UK: https://uk.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2024-uk-leaderboard
At the time of writing, London is only 5th! We have about 30 hours to change that :0
See you at the next event,
Elizabeth
P.S. When uploading your images iNaturalist, please try to follow these guidelines:
1) Only wildlife - no pets, livestock, crops or garden plants (unless they got there without human help)
2) Only identify records if you are fairly confident in their ID! Otherwise use a wider taxa: e.g. If I am not sure if a snail is a white-lipped snail, I could put it as "snail" or "gastropoda".
3) Only upload records that others have not already uploaded! This is a tricky one for today, I will try to comment on duplicates.
